Acorn Aluminium has become one of a group of leading commercial window and door manufacturers to have achieved Constructionline’s Gold Standard.
The award recognises Acorn Aluminium’s commitment to minimise and manage its environmental impact; quality management; commitment to promoting equal opportunities; compliance with the Modern Slavery Act; and anti-bribery and corruption policies.
Paul Stevens, Managing Director, Acorn Aluminium, said that the achievement of the standard, alongside its’ own expertise in commercial supply meant that Acorn Aluminium had enhanced its offer to its commercial partners.
“We’re delighted to have achieved the Constructionline Gold Standard. It’s the product of a lot of work to refine and build on our pre-exiting commitments to quality, safety and the environment. We have always been and will continue to be committed to doing the right thing. Constructionline Gold is an embodiment of the underlying foundations on which we have always operated.”
As a specialist in the design, manufacture and installation of aluminium curtain walling, windows and doors, Acorn Aluminium has a track record of successful project delivery.
We work with leading architectural aluminium systems specialists including Senior Architectural Systems; Metal Technology Systems; and Kawneer; to supply high-performance aluminium windows and doors and curtain walling to the commercial sector.
This includes a commitment to work closely with main contractors and architects from project inception to completion, and ensuring that all onsite personnel undergo extensive health and safety training.
“For example, all of our fitting teams have gone through the Construction Skills Certification Scheme and carry CSCS cards while our team of supervisors are also Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) accredited” explains Paul. “We also work to established quality procedure processors with main contractors to ensure what we deliver on site reflects what’s specified on site drawings to the millimetre, guaranteeing the quality of installations.”
Acorn installations teams also undergo specialist training on access equipment including the IPAF (International Powered Access Federation) training; and PASMA (Prefabricated Access Suppliers’ and Manufacturers’ Association) training and certification, plus all appropriate working at height training.
It has also recently completed a rigorous testing and approvals process to be able to offer BS EN 12101-2 accredited NSHEV (Natural Smoke and Heat Exhaust Ventilators) windows.
“Accreditation is a foundation for commercial partnerships. We recognise that main contractors want to work with partners who do things properly and who share their values.
“We hope that achieving Constructionline Gold helps us fast track the communication of those commitments”, Paul concludes.
